every fright needs a crew
The Barn doesn't scare itself. Every night it takes volunteers to run the show — the actors hiding in the field, the ghouls hiding in the walls, the crew keeping groups moving, and the frantic clown handing out hand stamps at the gate. That's the whole operation: volunteers, a maze that changes every year, a crazy person with a vison, and a very old barn.
You don't just watch the haunt. You're the reason it works.
pick a dark space
• Scare Actor — the face (or lack of one) behind the mask. Some are in the maze & part of the show. some are in the shadows & will only be seen when they want to be.
• Floor / Security — keeps groups moving through the maze and makes sure everyone stays safe. monitors security cameras and assists with repairs.
• Front Gate / Crowd Crew — check-in, hand stamps, and managing the line outside
• Suits anything — if you'd rather help backstage or with setup, tell us in the form
a night at the barn
The haunt runs Fridays & Saturdays, opens at 7pm. Volunteers should arrive by 6pm so that you have time to eat and get into costume. All volunteers should be in full costume and ready to get into position by 6:50pm. we are open until 10pm even on slow nights. but not to worry, just because there’s no customers doesn’t mean there’s no fun to be had.
It's loud, sometimes really fast, and always little bit chaotic — in the best way.

Never Scared Anyone Before?
no problem — Before opening night we’ll get together to do a dress rehearsal and practice, so you'll learn the maze, the timing, and how to land a scare before you ever face a crowd.
If you can stand quietly behind a wall and jump out on cue and not shout “boo”, you're qualified.
when & where
the barn is located at the back of a large open field at 572 harpling rd in Donaldson, ar. there will be a crew meeting around September 20th, and a dress rehearsal/practice September 25th or 26th.
We also reach out to high schools within about 50 miles, so if you're a student looking for something genuinely unforgettable (and volunteer hours don't hurt either), this is it. But please check with your school first if you are just here for the hours. some don’t accept ours to be used toward those needed to graduate.
